1982 Leyland National 2 WBW735X - the first time the complete bus has been outside the garage

1982 Leyland National 2 WBW735X - the first time the complete and finished bus has been outside the garage before setting off for its first appearance at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum's Annual Running Day at Lathalmond on 17 May 2015.

This bus was new to Atomic Energy Authority at Harwell near Didcot along with WBW736X for staff transport in February 1982. It was acquired by Tappins Coaches Limited of Didcot in 1991 where is gained a TL11-B 245 engine, most likely from a Tiger. Routemaster Buses Limited, Nantwich acquired the bus on 1 November 2010 and in July 2011 painted it into their two-tone green "London Country" livery. It was withdrawn from service in June 2014 and acquired for preservation on 1 August 2014.

It was rallied in Routemaster Buses livery until 12 October 2014 after which time the bus was prepared for a full repaint into the livery of Strathtay Scottish which operated seven (out of eleven) similar Leyland National buses.

As it is the 30th anniversary of Strathtay Scottish in 2015 it seemed fitting to complete this project as quickly as possible and she returned to the road on 17 May 2015.

Not only that but the bus won the Roland Williams award for the best bus at the SVBM event.
