046 Fluorescent lighting.

046 Fluorescent lighting. Daimler CVG6 number 180 ETS960 was bought new in 1955 with Metro-Cammell bodywork and seating 64 passengers to replace the Downfield-Blackness trams. It was the first bus to have its bare light bulbs replaced by fluorescent tubes and is pictured here in October 1960. This photograph was probably taken as it was prepared to be the Christmas bus with a large Council crest fixed to the front and lights fitted around its exterior.
