Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways: Caernarfon Station redevelopment
Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways: Caernarfon Station redevelopment.
The Ffestiniog narrow gauge Railway was founded in 1836 and is located mainly within the Snowdonia National Park running from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog. The Festiniog Railway Company is the oldest surviving railway company in the world and the Welsh Highland Railway, which it also operates, was re-opened fully in 2011 operating from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. The two railways share the same track gauge with some trains working the entire 40 mile route from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Caernarfon.
